Festival Plektrum koondab septembris kultuuriparemiku

12. – 16. septembrini Tallinnas toimuv kunsti- ja kultuurifestival Plektrum toob seekord kokku üle 60 erineva kunstniku, muusiku ja teoreetiku nii kodu- kui ka välismaalt.

Käesoleva aasta festivali peateemaks on korraldaja Enar Essensoni sõnul “My Space - Minu Ruum”. “Igapäevane ruum, kus me viibime on meiega 24 tundi, nii võibki nimetuse all “Minu ruum” mõelda nii riiki kui ka igaühe konkreetset kodu või mingit muud ala meie ümber. Igaüks määratleb ja piiritleb lõppkokkuvõttes selle ise,” selgitas Essenson ja lisas, et festivali eesmärgiks on muuta Tallinn teatud perioodil omamoodi kunstiruumiks.

Korraldajate sõnul kujuneb suureks VJ vabalavaks ja töötoaks sel aastal Von Krahli Teater, kus viie päeva jooksul saab iga huviline proovida kas VJ-mist, nautida audiovisuaalseid etendusi või kohtuda erinevate teoreetikute ja praktikutega.

Essensoni sõnul on festivali tähtsaks osaks just Eesti VJ-kultuuri arendamine, samuti erinevate workshop`ide korraldamine meediakunsti tutvustamiseks ja loomiseks. “Festival annabki noortele tegusatele inimestele võimaluse oma loomingu edastamiseks laiemale ringkonnale,” selgitas korraldaja.

Festivali klubiõhtu saab toimuma 14-ndal septembril Linnahalli kõrval asuvas Kultuurikatlas. Korraldaja Jaagup Jalakase sõnul on ruumid kujundatud kõikide festivalil osalevate video-kunstnike poolt. “Kahel 10-meetrise läbimõõduga kinoekraanil teevad VJ-d oma tööd tänapäevaselt uuenduslike tehnoloogia-lahenduste kaasabil. Rütme loovad aga Ripperton Šveitsist ja Guido Schneider Saksamaalt,” ütles Jalakas.

Plektrumil esineb üle 60 erineva kunstniku, muusiku ja teoreetiku nii kodu- kui ka välismaalt, sealhulgas VJ Anyone (UK), MFO (Saksamaa), Timo Novotny (Austria), Shawn Pinchbeck (Kanada), Karsten Plumpf (Taani), Xploitec (Soome), Wexel (Holland), Pia Fraus (Eesti), Ans. Andur (Eesti) ja Uni (Eesti).

Plektrum sündis 2005. aastal, mil eesmärgiks püstitati uue visiooni elluviimine ehk korraldada üritus, mille ülesandeks on pakkuda varieeruvaid muusikastiile, anda inimestele aimu VJ-kunsti eripärast ning tutvustada meediakunsti mitmeid vorme. Tänaseks on festival välja arenenud viie päevaseks kultuurisündmuseks, mida on lühikese ajaloo jooksul külastanud juba mitmed tunnustatud väliskülalised.
