Julian van Aalderen (1976) graduated at the Academy of Arts and Industry in Enschede at the Media-art department. He is working as animator/illustrator/graphic-designer and video artist. The C-men came into existence in 1999, when van Aalderen and fellow student Sjors Trimbach discovered a mutual interest in prehistoric gamecomputers and their visual possibilities. The C-men re-invented 16-bit style and brought it to a higher level: Every time you see a person in a Atari T-shirt, you know these 2 boys started it! After five years of low-res hardcore Sjors decided to focus on his work as a designer and left Julian to defend their typical lowbit visual style. His weapons are 2 Amiga 1200 computers. With the aid of the MNU2/3 VJ-tool, he can alter his low-res animations on the fly.
