Tiit Remm (Estonia)
Temporality of places
People make sense out of their environment in many ways - there are several levels of image of environment and fields of meaning and the ways how the meaning is attached. Historical significance is one widely used concept by which places are made meaningful and valuable. Historical significance as well as other temporal meanings are one basis for diversity of understanding of a place. New media as an expression (being in a place or representing it) create and influence that diversity of understanding of the environment.
Tiit Remm has been graduated culture theory and semiotics in Tartu University. At the moment, he is in master studies in the same faculty, using time-room representation research in city space. In the Loovkeskus (youth centre in Tartu) Tiit Remm have been used very often the contemporary art topics, especially specialised for young people. The Last, also in the international level.
